Welcome to Blatten-Belalp
Blatten-Belalp, rising between 1,300 and 3,100 metres, is an authentic Alpine destination where unspoiled nature, majestic panoramas and living Valais traditions blend seamlessly. This typical mountain village, with its old wooden chalets and warm atmosphere, overlooks the Aletsch Arena and offers spectacular views of the Great Aletsch Glacier, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
In winter, Blatten-Belalp becomes a true playground for mountain enthusiasts. Its varied slopes, generous sunshine and wide Alpine landscapes appeal to families, skiers and nature lovers. The area offers alpine skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing and a unique traditional atmosphere. A highlight of the season is the famous Witch’s Downhill, a legendary event that brings festive energy to the village.
In summer, the region reveals the full beauty of its Alpine environment. Panoramic hiking trails, mountain biking, routes to high pastures and breathtaking views of the glacier shape the warm season. One of the region’s must-see attractions is the suspension bridge linking Belalp and Riederalp, crossing high above the deep Massa Gorge — an unforgettable experience for outdoor enthusiasts.
Blatten-Belalp embodies a genuine Alpine spirit, where tradition, simplicity and a deep connection to nature create a harmonious and inspiring setting. It is an ideal destination for those seeking a preserved environment, a family-friendly atmosphere and direct contact with high mountain landscapes.
