Welcome to Zinal
Zinal, located at 1670 metres at the end of the Val d’Anniviers, is a bright and unspoiled mountain village surrounded by some of the most iconic peaks in the Alps. Overlooked by four thousand metre summits such as the Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn and Obergabelhorn, Zinal offers a magnificent setting where nature, authenticity and tranquillity come together powerfully.
In winter, Zinal and neighbouring Grimentz form a modern and varied ski area, highly regarded for its panoramic views, technical slopes and reliable snow conditions. Freeriders enjoy renowned descents, while families benefit from dedicated zones and accessible pistes.
Snowshoe outings, cross country skiing, walks along the Navisence and the village’s warm atmosphere complete an authentic winter experience.
In summer, Zinal becomes a paradise for mountain enthusiasts. The village is a prime starting point for the Zinalrothorn tour, hikes to the Zinal glacier, the Cabane du Mountet or Lake Arpitettaz. Trails wind through forests, waterfalls, alpine pastures and striking glacial scenery.
Families enjoy the accessible routes, rest areas and rich, preserved natural environment. The village also hosts events and activities that highlight local mountain life and culture.
Zinal retains a deeply authentic charm, with wooden chalets, quiet lanes, a simple, welcoming atmosphere and a close relationship with the high mountains. It is a place to contemplate, recharge and experience the Alps in all their intensity.
