Archaeological Trail of Martigny

Archaeological Trail of Martigny

The Archaeological Trail of Martigny invites visitors to discover more than two thousand years of history through a fascinating walk in the heart of the town.

Along a route of approximately 4 kilometres, this self-guided walk explores the main remains of the ancient Roman city and provides insight into the development of Martigny through the centuries. Among the highlights is the famous Roman amphitheatre, one of the region’s most remarkable historical landmarks.

The trail can be enjoyed at your own pace and includes historical information, photographs and audio content, offering an interactive and enriching experience.

Combining historyculture and heritage discovery, the Archaeological Trail of Martigny is an original way to explore one of the oldest towns in Valais.
